Ayra Community,

TL;DR:

  • Ayra’s Transitional AGM was held on November 20th, with both resolutions receiving strong support.
  • Members explored an expanded Ayra Card demonstration led by Affinidi and Northern Block.
  • A new Ayra Card Working Group and member-led PoCs will launch in early January.

Hello everyone!

As we close out 2025, this month brings a moment to reflect on how far we’ve come and where we’re heading next. Our Transitional Annual General Meeting marked an important step in Ayra’s evolution, confirming the support for our governance direction and giving us a clear mandate to continue building the foundations of the Ayra Trust Network. Thank you to every member who participated, asked questions, and helped shape the decisions that guide our next phase.

We also saw strong engagement around the expanded Ayra Card demonstration. Members are now seeing how standardized payloads, trust registry queries, and consistent interaction patterns can bring real, practical value across ecosystems. This shared understanding is already sparking early pilot interest as we move from concept to coordinated implementation. Big thanks to Affinidi and Northern Block for leaning in on the demonstration.

We are establishing the Ayra Card Working Group (draft charter) starting in the first week of January. This group will be focused on developing the Business, Governance, and Technology aspects of the Ayra Card protocol; running proofs of concept; assisting operation pilot projects; and assisting members in adoption of the Ayra Card protocol.

Looking ahead, you’ll see growing opportunities for member participation, from the emerging Ayra Card Working Group, to business-focused proofs of concept and operational pilot projects, governance of the Ayra Trust Network; and into deeper technical alignment through the Ayra Conformance Test Suite. Your continued involvement is what transforms these components into a living, interoperable network.

Keep being awesome!

Workstream Updates

Business Workstream

Following the successful delivery of the Ayra Card demonstration in late November, members now have a clearer picture of how standardized payloads and consistent interaction patterns support real-world verification scenarios. The demo walked through employment validation, identity assurance, site authorization, and even retail or loyalty use cases, all using the same foundational Ayra Card model.

This session has already sparked interest from several Member organizations exploring where Ayra Cards could support cross-organizational coordination in 2026.

What’s next:

  • Proof of Concept and Pilot Projects – we will be announcing a call to participate in at least one proof of concept (PoC) this month, with the goal of starting that PoC in early January.
  • Members are beginning early discussions on potential proof-of-concept and operational pilot themes, such as employment verification, workforce access, and B2B credential exchange.
  • Insights from the demo are helping shape conversations about where proofs of concept could start and what roles different members might play.

If your organization is interested in participating in early exploratory work, please reach out. We are gathering interest from members who want to be involved in the next phase of development.

Upcoming Business Office Hours:

  • Tuesday, January 6, 2026 • 6:00 pm PST / 9:00 pm EST / 1:00 am UTC

Governance Workstream

Ayra’s first Annual General Meeting took place on November 20, marking a significant milestone for the association.

Members:

  • Approved resolutions necessary for the next stage of Ayra’s development
  • Received updates on operational priorities
  • Discussed the roadmap leading into 2026
  • Confirmed next steps for member engagement and working group participation

Thank you to all who attended live or reviewed the AGM materials. Follow-ups, including the resolutions and updated governance documents, are posted on the Ayra Member Portal.

Technical Workstream

Work on the Trust Registry Query Protocol (TRQP) and the Conformance Test Suite (CTS) continued through December, building on the updates shared last month.

The formal specification for TRQP v2.0 has entered a second public review period at Trust Over IP, which will last until the first week of January 2026. The specification has hardened and is being adopted by multiple Ayra members and the broader community. The Conformance Test Suite has been updated to use TRQP v2.0 PR02 and was used in the recent Ayra Card demonstration.

In parallel, the CTS refactor is progressing steadily. The focus continues to be on supporting multiple agents through a common controller approach, using the Ayra Card schema directly in test scenarios, and exercising end-to-end flows, including TRQP calls. As before, early testing is helping surface differences in how credential requests and checks are handled, reinforcing the value of this alignment work.

Members interested in these technical components will have opportunities to engage further during upcoming office hours in the new year.

Office Hours

Ayra’s Technical Office Hours continue to serve as an open, member-driven space to explore questions, review proposals, and deepen shared understanding across our technical initiatives. These sessions provide a high-fidelity forum to discuss Architectural Decision Records (ADRs), Requests for Comments (RFCs), requirements, and any technical challenges that arise as the Trust Network evolves. While not a substitute for task forces, they are an important complement to the asynchronous decision-making process, helping ensure broad visibility and diverse input.

Upcoming Technical Office Hours:

  • Tuesday, December 9 • 6:00 pm PST / 9:00 pm EST / 1:00 am UTC
  • Wednesday, December 10 • 8:00 am PST / 11:00 am EST / 3:00 pm UTC

We encourage you to participate, bring questions, and share feedback by either filling out this form or requesting access to the agenda items and notes document (link) and adding an entry for the relevant date.  You can also reach out to christine.martin@ayra.forum.

These conversations play a key role in shaping alignment across the technical workstream and supporting a collaborative, inclusive engineering culture within Ayra. As always, strengthening member connections is central to our community-building efforts. Standing office hours are available each week, and you can find all upcoming sessions in the Ayra Activity & Events Calendar.
