Ayra Community,

TL;DR:

  • TRQP v2.0 reaches formal standard with publishing at Trust Over IP, under the Joint Development Foundation SDO rules.
  • Trusted.Associates Yoti and FaceTec have begun planning out the high-assurance PoC that kicked off mid-April.Β

Ayra Community,

April has been a month of milestones. The Trust Registry Query Protocol, years in the making,Β  is now officially released. The first Ayra Card PoC is underway with Yoti and Trusted.Associates beginning things – other members are welcome. The Ayra Protocol Working Group has launched. And the broader ecosystem is accelerating in ways that validate everything this community has been building toward, particularly how digital trust applies to Agentic AI.

Keep being awesome!

πŸ…TRQP v2.0 Is Now a Formal Standard

The Trust Registry Query Protocol (TRQP) v2.0 was approved on April 15 as a ToIP Approved Deliverable β€” the first formal standard for querying trust registries. Think of it as DNS for trust: a lightweight, read-only HTTPS query that answers “Is this entity authorized to do this thing?”

The digital trust stack has been built in pieces β€” W3C gave us verifiable credentials, DIF gave us an interoperable presentation. What was missing was a standard way to check the governance layer behind a credential. Without that, a perfectly signed credential from an unauthorized issuer passes every technical test. TRQP closes that gap.

Why this matters for members: TRQP is the query layer trust registries expose. The registries themselves are becoming commodity infrastructure β€” the real question is who owns the intelligence layer that sits on top. That coordination is exactly what the Ayra Trust Network is built to provide.

πŸš€ First Ayra Card PoC β€” Kicked Off

The first Ayra Card Proof of Concept officially kicked off with Trusted Associates, Yoti, and FaceTec. This is a significant moment, moving from protocol to proof, with real organizations running real implementations. This POC is focusing on high-assurance onboarding with government ID verification and person binding for employee credentials. The POC will demonstrate how Ayra’s conformance test suite facilitates interoperability. We’ll be sharing learnings as the PoC progresses.

πŸ›  Ayra Protocol Working Group Launched

The Ayra Protocol Working Group held its kick-off on April 14. This group will play a key role in shaping how the Ayra Card Protocol evolves. If you’re interested in contributing, reach out to christine.martin@ayra.forum.

πŸ“„ New Member Resource: Trust Registries as Competitive Strategy

Ayra has published a new strategic guide for members: Trust Registries as Competitive Strategy. The trust registries your industry needs don’t exist yet, but the authoritative sources do. This isn’t just a gap. It’s a first-mover opportunity.

The guide covers:

  • Two roles to play: catalyst and Intelligence Layer, and which is right for your organization
  • Decision frameworks: concrete criteria for when to build a registry vs. proprietary capability
  • Implementation roadmap: governance-first sequencing from landscape mapping to intelligence layer build

And more, you can download a copy on the member forum.

πŸ’³ The Intention Layer

Agents don’t have attention to capture; they have mandates to execute. Taylor makes the case that HTTP 402 finally has to get built β€” Tempo, Stripe, and Visa are shipping the Machine Payments Protocol to do it. Read it with trust registries in mind: a payment only works when the mandate behind it is verifiable. Read more.
